September 8th Meeting Announced

I’m pleased to announce that we will have
DANIEL J. MCNEFF CEO of LEGALLY MINE
as September’s guest speaker. He will teach us about
LAWSUIT PROTECTION & PREVENTION, TAX REDUCTION & ESTATE PLANNING.
He hails from Orem, Utah and is on an East Coast Tour right now.

Mr. McNeff will talk about Entities, Living Trusts, Lawsuits, Charging Order, Separating Assets, & Implementation tactics.
Our meeting this month is at the Double Tree Hotel, in East Syracuse. The meeting begins at 6pm. Members $27.00 and non-members $35.00. First time visitors are free without dinner.

We’re still in search of MONEY for our investor members. We are looking for volunteers for a new committee that will work on what housing grants are available to us. If you have a money source that would like to talk to our group, please get in touch with us.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE: Next month we are moving to Denny’s at 201 Lawrence Road corner of South Bay Road in North Syracuse. Meeting dates will still be th second Wednesday of every month. Hi all, we had another informative meeting this month. We met Deraux L. Branch from Empower Federal Credit Union in Syracuse, New York. Empower is a local Credit Union that has a commercial loan department. He went over the programs that Empower has that real estate investors can qualify for. They have business loans and commercial multi-family department. In this department they handle any where from 2 family up to large apartment buildings on a case-by-case basis. We were very impressed by the wide variety of options available in this usually sparce mortgage environment. He said that they make their decisions based on facts and what makes sense. He welcomes questions and scenarios. Deraux can be reached at 315-426-5726 or dbranch@empowerfcu.om. He was also generous and helped the members to a very simple explanation of debt servicing.

On another note, our members shared their latest experiences in the local real estate market and gave suggestions to other members questions.

Fellow Investors what a wonderful meeting we had this month. Jerod Schoonmaker from Syracuse Securities gave so much good information for purchasing Multi-Family, Mixed-Use, Warehouses, Retail, Office, Industrial, Gas Stations, Mobile Home Parks, Automotive, Restaurants, and more! He demonstrated extensive experience in setting up deals for all types of properties. He can be contacted at 315-424-7635 x 265.

Jennifer Cuadrado also from Syracuse Securities gave a presentation on residential loans. She also had vast experience on her side. She spoke about FHA and FHA 203k for homebuyers, and other first time homebuyer products. Her phone number is 315-424-3200 x 244.

Mr. Jerome Fine, from Photos by Fine made a presentation. He does aerial photography of properties, architectural photographs of properties for sale, postcard mailers, and commercial photography. I’m going to definitely use him next time I need photos of my properties! He can be reached at 315-682-7272.

May 2010 Recap

Our meeting was a great success! Members started off the meeting introducing themselves and giving us an idea of their backgrounds and what they are working on. Who knew that we have members who come from around the world with contacts back home? We learned that one of our members, from Sweden is in the excavating business and that another at the meeting was from Puerto Rico and that beach front property costs the same as inland property. Everyone appreciated getting to know about our fellow members better.

Donovan Pieterse gave a presentation about the value of time and money as it relates to inflation, real estate and mortgages. In short, hold onto your low interest rate mortgages that you are getting now and don’t pay off early. You’ll reap the benefit of inflation. Inflation kills Cash, it kills Debt according to Donovan.

Carlotta Brown presented the first of several future presentations of “Where to get Money”. We talked about Self Directed Ira’s and many local lenders.

We had another informative meeting! Thank you Jim Hariff for your presentation! His presentation of the Keys to Making Buying Bank Owned Properties Work was a detailed step by step guide for real estate investors. He also gave us practical advice on buying REO’s. Carlotta Brown gave a presentation on the Self Directed IRA program from Equity Trust Company in Ohio. This gives you an option to either invest in properties with private investor money, or use your own pension, ira, or retirement funds to buy properties.
